Environmental Design

Environmental design is the planning and designing of a sign system and other forms of communication in the built or natural environment. These signs cover several areas including: information and interpretation; direction and orientation;
identification, ornamentation, and regulation. This design system is used to guide people through spaces such as parks, buildings, and villages.

San Juan Island Sailing Foundation is a non-profit organization that spends a great deal of time out in the natural environment to help promote safe boating through safe sailing practices. Volunteers and Board members of the Foundation are learning the benefits of a design scheme for all of their printed and new media designs. They have also ventured into sponsorship signs on the side of there Vanguard 15 fleet promoting local businesses as a fund raising opportunity.
